In 1992, Amanda Bossard began her studies in marine biology in Anchorage in Alaska at the University of Alaska Pacific. Bossard started her journey in the commercial seafood industry in the year 1999. At the time she worked on Murat Aritan's halibut 65 feet vessel, transformed into a fish tender. Bossard is now is married to Aritan and they have united to make their claim to the market. Both of them are in favor of conserving resources and maximising profit. Otolith was founded at the time of Philadelphia through Bella Bossard who is now mom to two boys who are aged three and one Bossard. In 2007, Bossard mother of two children Bella, age 3, and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia after a trip from Canada opened otolith as a direct market wholesale seafood distributor. Bossard's daughters Isabella, age 12, and son Andre aged 10 visit each year for a visit to Southeast Alaska to work in the position of deckhand in the wild salmon season. For two months, Bossard and Isabella utilize hooks and lines to hunt for the salmon they want to catch. Aritan will then sell their fish for processing locally.
